A Mommy's gotta do...

What a Mommy's gotta do. Our poor little Bentley was very unfortunate to be born with this really silly looking cowlick right on her front hair line. It has caused me a little grief because it is very hard to manage and I just got to the point where it was just driving me crazy. So, I decided to do something about it. I read up a little on cowlicks and found that sometimes if you shave them off the hair will grow back in a different direction.
All I can say is "Hair grows back...right??" Daddy started off by shaving the hair with a beard trimmer. We then lathered her up and the bic razor did the rest. Nice shine baby! Contrary to Daddy's belief..she really doesn't care and if this works she will be thanking Mommy when she gets older. You can't even really tell that she has a big bald spot because her hair is long enough to sport a very cute combover! We will let you know in the upcoming weeks if it works. Until then does anyone have any other ideas if it doesn't?

Weekend Getaway

As the boys would say, "We went to Grandma's in the Mountains" this last weekend and had a ton of fun sledding and snowmobiling! We went to Craigmont, Idaho where they had lots and lots of feet of snow!Watch out Cayton, you're about to get clobbered by your brother! Poor Ayden...had it coming to him I guess This is what it looks like when the snowmobile isn't there to
haul you back up to the top of the hill. This is what it looks like when it is! It wouldn't have been a real sledding trip without a few bumps and spills.

Jarron and I had our fun too! Just how many people can that snowmobile hold and pull? It can be done folks! Ayden proved that you can indeed fall asleep while riding a snowmobile! Great Grandma and Grandpa with all their great grandchildren Well, Ayden said it the best for everyone, "I don't want to go home."
It was a great weekend, too bad it had to end.

I've been tagged!

Thanks to Tiffany here is a little about Jarron and I: How long did you date? 8 months and were engaged for 4 1/2 months How old is he? 28 (August 26th) How old are you? 26 (November 4th) Who eats more sweets? Definitely me. That is why I spend way more time at the gym:) Who said I love you first? He did, about 2 months before I confessed Who is taller? He is by 8 inches Who can sing better? Hands down him, but I can sing louder:) Who is smarter? I would have to say him because he picked me for his wife! (Really it's me though) Who does the laundry? Me, except for when I'm pregnant Who does the dishes? Me, except for when I'm pregnant Guilty pleasures? Don't think so Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He does Who mows the lawn? Usually Jarron except for this summer. He spent the summer in Illinois and so I mowed it. It was quite the site when I was 6 months pregnant! Good thing our lawn is small! Who cooks dinner? Does cooking mean microwaving? Jarron cooks, I microwave. Someday I hope to take lessons:) Who is more stubborn? Oh, that would be ME! Who kissed who first? He kissed me unexpectedly on our second date Who asked who out first? He asked me out first Who proposed? He did with the famous glass slipper. What a romantic! Who has more siblings? He does with 5, I have 2 Who wears the pants? I would like to say we both do but I think it's really me What is your favorite thing about him? If I only can pick one it would be that he is a dreamer and a go-getter! He dreams it, he works hard for it and he gets it.(That is how he got me. Believe me...I wasn't an easy catch) Thank goodness for dreams...I wouldn't have the wonderful family I have now if it wasn't for his dreams and determination!

It's our Anniversary!

February 7th marks our 5th anniversary! I can't believe that we made it. Well, I can but it doesn't seem like 5 years have gone by. I think that today would be the perfect day to tell you all how we met...if you haven't heard it before. We have to go way back to the year 2001. About 6 months after high school I found myself in college and still attending the home ward. I wasn't about to step foot into the single's ward especially after the movie had come out. I wasn't ready for a date let alone a relationship. I was perfectly happy going to school and that was it. Well, my friend kept insisting that i go to the singles ward with her. To put it nicely I never answered when she called on Saturday night! After months of dodging her I finally told her that I would commit to going the first Sunday of the new year. So, she picked me up and away I went...never to return again. Of course it was fast and testimony meeting and I was just content to sit in my seat. During the bearing of testimony's this one guy (later I found out his name was Jarron) got up and bore his testimony. He looked awful! He had a broken arm and scratches all over his face and was just a mess. After the meeting block I was with my girl friend standing outside the bishop's office and up came the sad looking guy that bore his testimony. Of all the people he happened to be my friend's home teacher and he wanted to set up a time to visit her. She introduced me to him and he then in turn introduced me to the rest of his friends....one had a brace on his leg and the other had his mouth wired shut. I did all that I could to not laugh and wonder exactly what they did in the single's ward. It looked very dangerous! Well, I thought that I had given it a shot and that my friend would stop calling but lo and behold she called again and said that I had to go again next Sunday (I later found out that Jarron made that Home teaching visit and all they talked about was me). Not knowing why and going against all my better judgment I went anyway and Jarron asked me out and being polite I agreed to ONE date. From that first date we saw each other everyday until he went to Disneyland with his family for Spring Break. During the year I tried to chase him off multiple times but he kept finding his way back. I'm so glad that he did! He proposed in September of 2002. We waited for his brother to return from his mission and we were married in 2003. My one stipultaion was to be married in my favorite temple and that was in San Diego. Jarron indeed married me in my castle and he even proposed with a glass slipper! Gotta love him! To set the story straight Jarron broke his arm sledding with his family, the guy with the leg brace just had a bad knee and was going to have surgery and the guy with his mouth wired shut hit his knee on his mouth also sledding. To my one true love - I LOVE YOU! Thank you for three wonderful children and I look forward to an eternity of joy, laughter and love!

This is the glass slipper and the inscription on the top reads,"To Salena, my Princess for time and all eternity. Love your Prince Charming, Jarron

Our primary hosted a Valentine's Ball on Friday night. We all got to get dressed up and dance the night away. The boys got to frost and decorate a cookie and then they put their dancing shoes on! Jarron even joined in and did the limbo, the chicken dance and the bunny hop. They all looked pretty crazy and had a ton of fun in doing so!
