The Story...

I know some of you want to know the story as to what happened to little Deacon. The last post I just really wanted to thank everyone and let you know that he was okay. I was still very emotional and didn't want to re-live the accident. However, I'm still struggling but as the days go by it is getting better.
Sunday at church I took Deacon out of his car seat to go change a messy diaper. When I returned to class he was a little fussy so I continued to hold and comfort him. Afterwards he was so content and bundled up that I just laid him back in his car seat without buckling it thinking I would remember to do it before we left the church. I proceeded to round up all the other kiddos. Jarron serves in the library and when I got there Bentley wanted me and was fussy and ready to go home for her nap. Jarron told me to take all the kids out to the car and he would bring Deacon and be out in a sec. So, after we got home Jarron was on the side to get Deacon out and because our cars are in the garage pretty tight and the boys get out Deacon's door Jarron lifted him up over the door slanting the car seat down and Deacon slid right out. He fell and hit just a piece of carpet on the concrete floor of the garage from about 5 1/2 ft. high. The moment I heard the hit flashbacks of not buckling him in shot through my mind and I knew the thump was his head. We got home from church about noon and were being admitted to the ER by 12:30. This was such an awful scary mommy moment that I can tell you that not buckling one of my kids into a car seat will never happen again. Again, thanks for all your prayers and cares! Deacon is still doing great and being a tough little trooper!

How fast your world can change

I have officially won the Worst Mommy Lifetime Achievement Award. Honored, I'm not. Guilt ridden, I am. For those who don't know on Sunday we had just an awful accident with Deacon which resulted with us in the ER, a stay over night at the hospital and him with a skull fracture. With such a tragedy I can only say that we are truly very blessed. With some beautiful blessings from Jarron and many many prayers offered on our behalf I couldn't be happier with the outcome. When we first got to the hospital the diagnosis was gloomy the stay could be long and upon leaving less than only 24 hours later two doctors had conflicting views on if there even was a fracture. The conclusion: Heavenly Father definitely healed a little boy and comforted a family (especially a mother) in need of much comfort. Thank you doesn't even sound like enough to offer to those who have helped in any way whether it was by prayers, phone calls sending your love, meals or the many hugs, but from the greatest depths of my heart I do thank you all and nothing has gone unnoticed or seemed small. Our family is so blessed with wonderful family and friends. Deacon had a doctors appointment today and the only sign of anything wrong is a big goose egg over his left ear. He has no brain damage, no broken bones and his fracture (if there is one) will heal completely normal. We send our love to all of you and thank you for everything!

ABC and D has arrived...

Deacon Crawford Langston made his way into the world on May 11, 2009 at 3:56 pm. He weighed 8lbs. 5oz. and was 21in. long. As you can see he has a full head of hair and the consensus is that he is Bentley's twin just 17 months apart right down to the wonderful cowlick on his forehead! He is just a fantastic baby! He doesn't cry and only wakes once at night!! He has already been such a joy in the addition to our family. The other kids just adore him and really help out. 2 minutes old

Almost exactly 24 hours old and we're going home!

He has just been such an easy baby that we have just been on the run since we got home from the hospital. We have already taken our first family trip as a family of 6 to Salt Lake. Jamison, Jarron's youngest brother is off to Uruguay for his mission and we went down to see him off. While we were there we had a free day and acting a little insane we decided to take all the kids and climb. Mt. Timpanogos! CRAZY!! We did it though and the guy at the top said that I may have broken a record carrying an 8 day old up the Mountain. It was so fun though and the boys loved being inside the cave.

Ayden with the heart of the cave
He was such a trooper he carried Bentley all the way up, all the way through, and all the way down. The cave wasn't easy to carry her through either.
Outside of the cave. Ready to go home honey? Sorry, still have to make it down :o)
The trail was a little tough on Miss Bentley

Picture taken just as we got out of the canyon which takes about 5 minutes. Do you think we wore them out?

Preschool Graduation

My little Grad!
Friday May 22, 2009 was the last day for Cayton and Ayden in preschool. Ayden will return next year but Cayton will be moving on to kindergarten. That's all I have to say for now because I'm already crying. Miss Heather was a wonderful teacher and did an awesome job with the boys! They absolutely loved her!

Another Chapter Almost Complete:

A special weekend:
Saturday- "us girls" participated in the annual Suzan G. Komen 5K race for the cure. I was a little bit leary joining in being only 2 days away from being induced but I told myself I could do it and I did! We always say we are going to get shirts or do something that make us stand out and we never do but this year Mitzi and Tori were on the ball and and made us pink shirts that said "We're bustin' our butts to save our bosoms" They were so fun to wear and people definitely noticed. Some even wanted to know where they could buy one!

Sunday- "Mother's Day" I don't know if I do it the best but the one thing I enjoy the most is being a "Mommy". This Mother's Day has been full of all kinds of different thoughts and feelings and marks the last day in the chapter of our family of 5. All I wanted for Mother's Day was a relaxing day and flowers. Jarron got my not so subtle hints and excelled! I woke up to the prettiest bouquet of calla lillies and pink roses. I just love fresh flowers in the house it just makes me smile! I have also been showered with hugs, kisses, I love you Mommy's, and honey don't do that just relax (probably my favorite) :0)
Monday- Our new chapter as a family of 6 will begin. Bright and early I'm being induced and to say the least I'm really EXCITED! I can't wait to welcome this little guy into the world and our eternal family. This will be the part I love the most because it gives me just a twinkle into the kind of love Heavenly Father has for us. I always have thoughts of how can I love this baby as much as the ones that I already have, but in a single solitary second I know. From the very second the little one is here I would give my life for them and they are loved equally. I'm always surprised at the capacity of love our hearts can hold. I know that our Heavenly Father loves all of us just the same and am grateful for the opportunity that I have to bring and raise his children in this world. The next post will be of the little guy so until then wish me luck!
